Frequently asked
Before you call us.
The five we answer most days. If yours isn’t here, our technical team would much rather you asked than guessed.
Does GC Solar install, or only supply?
Both. Homes and smaller commercial sites are installed by certified installers in our network, who issue the Certificate of Compliance. Larger projects are built by our own EPC team under one contract.
Find an installerCan you take over a system someone else installed?
Yes, starting with an audit. We measure what the system actually produces against what it should, check the electrical work, and give you a written report with any remedial work costed. A sound system can then go onto a maintenance agreement.
What does a maintenance agreement cover?
Scheduled inspections, cleaning, torque and thermal checks, battery health, firmware and monitoring, and an agreed response time when something faults. Anything excluded is listed in the agreement.
Do you work outside South Africa?
Yes, we are active in 12 countries. Working across a border mainly changes the logistics and the compliance paperwork, so tell us your country early.
Who owns the monitoring data?
You do. On larger sites the data can also feed into your own SCADA or building management system.
Start a project
Tell us what needs building.
A new installation, a system to take over, or a plant to maintain. Describe the site and we will tell you which of our services it actually needs.
