From a focused equipment distributor to a pan-African renewable energy partner.

Foundation
GC Solar was established in South Africa, supplying solar water heating systems with local suppliers.
- 2015
Local distribution expansion
We built strong distribution channels with local solar water heater manufacturers to meet growing market demand.

African market growth
Expanded across Africa, working with established EPC partners and large-volume distributors.

Retail market entry
Opened our first retail outlet in Centurion, entering the end-consumer market.

Infrastructure and training
Expanded our Southern African distribution network and launched the GC Solar Skills Development Training Academy.

Franchise model and Eskom partnership
Introduced our franchising model to strengthen B2C reach across Africa, and partnered with Eskom on solar water heating projects.

QCTO assessment centre
Opened our QCTO assessment centres, secured EWSETA and merSETA grant funding, exhibited at Mining Indaba, and began preparing installer certification on the brands we distribute.
